Homeless in Japan aren't homeless for the same reasons people from other parts of the world. Most are so because of "choice" (or rather inability to cope with japanese lifestyle stress and social demands) instead of just being born poor or being a junkie.

Sure there must be those kinds of homeless too, but there's much less and doesn't seem to be the case of this guy. From the last pages you can notice he most likely had the usual through japanese school education.

And there are paid showers (coinshower) where they usually bath from time to time. But that depends on how much they have and if they want, so there must be some pretty dirty homelesses too!</description>
